I was born and raised in Miami, Florida. I completed my undergraduate studies at Florida International University, graduating with honors. While an undergraduate student, I worked at the University of Miami, Department of Dermatology as a clinical research coordinator, and this experience solidified my desire to become a dermatologist. I received a master’s degree and a PhD in cell biology and cancer research at Albany Medical College. After receiving my PhD, I completed my medical school training at Albany Medical College. I then attended Roger Williams Medical Center/Boston University, Dermatology Residency Training Program where I was awarded chief resident.

I have published extensively in top rated dermatology medical journals and have won numerous awards for my research in dermatology. I have been the principal investigator for numerous independent research studies as well as industry-sponsored research studies. My research has led to the filing and acceptance of a US patent for a small molecule inhibitor for abnormal scar formation.

I am board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, International Peel Society, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and the Massachusetts Dermatology Society.

I am married and have 3 children. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and traveling. Being of Iranian descent, I am fluent in Persian.
